I am a PhD candidate in Chemistry, under the supervision of Prof Simon Trudel and Prof Viola Birss. I use synchrotron energy from the Canadian Light Source to perform x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) work on CO2 solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs) in order to determine their catalytic mechanism and improve device performance.
